Professor of Design at the University of Aveiro, with interests on theory of design, Portuguese design history, design studies, visual and material culture, cultural heritage, patrimony, museology, museography, illustration and art. She has written extensively and has been invited to give lectures at (inter)national conferences, with articles in scientific journals, publishing several books. Now is currently vice-director of ID+ Research Institute in Design, Media and Culture, of the Doctoral Program in Design, and member of the editorial board of several international journals.
